Readymades

This week Dr. Tucker asked us that we can either chose an object that we could make into a ready-made or we could take two daily commentaries, well of course I chose to do the ready-made. A ready-made is an object that is mass produced or an everyday thing and the Artist alters it a little bit (in some cases). During class people brought all sorts of everyday things from pens to calculators, one guy even brought a picture frame that he had broke because of a rough memories of a woman and named it drunken memories of her. Dr. Tucker found that to be extremely good and found it quite hilarious, as did I, and I thought it was the best one. I chose something a little more simple however had a lot of meaning to me. I chose to use my track spike and I titled it "The Wind" I chose this title because every time I put on my shoes on I feel as if I can run as fast as the wind and nothing can stop me just like nothing can stop the wind. I gained a lot of appreciation from doing this little project and found it to be very interesting seeing what the others brought.
