Dada and Surrealism

This week be have been talking about Dada and Surrealism. I found this to be a very interesting, I found it to be very cool that Dada would go out and find random everyday materials and make them into what he considered art. However, Dada's definition of art is totally different from what I believe art is. To Dada anything can be art, if he found it to be beautiful Dada saw it as art. Some of his art work he went out and bought a household item and sent it into an exhibit and just signed his name on the side of the item. However some people didn't find Dada's view of art to be acceptable and sometimes denied his work entrance in exhibits. I agree in Dada's eye that anything can be art it's just how you view it, and a lot of things today if they were not seen by everyone from a day-to-day basis could be seen as beautiful and could be considered art. I found the views of Dada to be very cool and interesting.
